Brain Mutiny.

Wow.

So, after setting another goddamn deadline, I've been slammed with a monster head cold/allergies 1-2 punch. Good times.

I'm walking around in an utter brain fog. Seriously... What the heck?

Does this crap ever happen to you?

Set a deadline only to have the universe bwahahahaha all over it. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it'll still be cool-- but dang, it's been a week of brain mutiny and I'm still not 100% on track. I'm not good with waiting.

I'm absolutely useless with "give it time".

Transformation is not a future event-- it's a present day activity

See my dilemma?

On an interesting, albiet bizarre side note, I had a Doc Brown (from Back to the Future) moment. Ever heard of orthostatic hypotension? Well, basically, I fainted. That's what happens when you mix lack of food with allergy pills and a hot bath. Sexy, right? {gah}

I wasn't out long, though I managed to acquire a bump on my head and bruise on my leg. You know, come to think of it, my brain fog was probably foggier thanks to it, too. ;)

Fortunately, my fainting spell enlightened me to some interesting ideas that I hadn't considered before.
("When I came to, I had a vision, an idea in my head-- a vision of the FLUX CAPACITOR!")

ROTFL!

Anyway... pieces to the long term puzzle of Pendomus snapped into focus. Granted, I don't have the brain power to do anything but scribble the notes... but it's gonna be cool. ;)

So, if I seem standoffish in the coming days... it's probably just brainfogginess running rampant.

I'm working on rallying the forces and avoiding the all out mutiny.

What's your week/coming days lookin' like?

Woman! Please take care of yourself. That fainting stuff is not cool. Be careful. Take it easy. Focus on getting healthy! The world will still be here.

Congrats on your new ideas for Pendomus. Excited about reading your stuff this weekend! :-)

Thanks, guys! I'm feeling better today (thus the post!)... I get a little nutty sometimes. I blame it on the allergy pills right now, though. ;)

@Kendall - no worries. I've been taking it as a sign to back off a bit. Not much I CAN do when my brain doesn't want to cooperate. {shakes fist} So, we're gonna have a family event and go check out some cool caves in WI this weekend. Tee-hee! ROAD TRIP!

Agh! Feel better really fast and really soon! Go away cold and brain fogginess. I'm just glad you didn't hurt yourself badly in the tub. I hate it when I get sick, even if it's just a cold. It really does put a stop to your brain power. Darn it with headaches. How's a writer supposed to write when a sledgehammer is driving nails into your noggin?

Goodluck, hun. Sending feel better vibes your way.

OMG, I'm so sorry you fainted! My son actually has been diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension, so I know exactly where you're coming from. BUT yay for small favors and bruised epiphanies! LOL

Okay, this here nugget of wisdom: "Transformation is not a future event--it's a present day activity." Totally needs to go on a poster. I'd put it up in both of my kids rooms and MAYBE they coudl remember to clean them. HEH

Hey, Cherie & Anita!

I'm starting to feel more normal, so this is a good thing. It's taken a few days, though. I've not had a fainting spell in YEARS so it was a bit of a shocker. LOL! Anyhoo-- Thanks for all of your support! You guys rock my world.

And I agree... the quote needs to be in big bold print. ;) My doll, Jillian Michaels says it a LOT! ;)

That's not good. Wow, I hope you start feeling better soon. It's always such a drag when you have a plan and life throws a bomb in the middle of it. Good luck, and take care of yourself.

Carissa, you always manage to put a smile on my face! I'm talking about the "out of order" sign in the pic...not that you're combating this demobilizing condition!

I'm hoping you'll feel better soon. Terrible you have to go through this, especially in the middle of your WIP.

Your words are still inspiring. You haven't quit writing altogether otherwise you wouldn't have this blog post up! You're a great example of a committed writer!

Keep it going!

Faiting coupled with a concussion-- both awful things. I hope you're on the mend.
